Today is definitely Monday and I do not need a calendar to prove it.
I woke up late which meant that I couldn’t go for a run. Instead I had to run like a crazy person to dress myself and two kids and get them out of the house in 30 minutes. Since all three of us needed showers, we had to forgo breakfast at home. Please keep in mind that both kids eat breakfast in school. They both just usually have a small breakfast at home as well. The boy wasn’t hungry, but the little one opted for a fruit squeezie.
We got into the car and headed out 15 minutes behind schedule. I dropped off the boy, but didn’t have money to pay his morning sitter. That was because I had forgotten my wallet. Definitely an issue, but I did not have time to deal with it then. So I drove to the little one’s school . As I got her out of the car, I realized that she was wearing the fruit squeezie. From the top of her shirt down to the knee of her jeans, she was all wet. Luckily I had a bag of clothes that someone had given me last week and I haven’t had time to bring into the house. I switched out her shirt and found a water fountain in the school to clean the pants off a bit. After a hug. (we never skip hugs) I was off to park and get to the bus stop. The bus came quickly and then the driver reminded us that the President is in town. If you aren’t from NYC, that means your commute can be severely delayed if you are travelling around the same time as the President.
Sounds perfect, right? Yea, no. Life is not perfect. BUT this life is mine and I can either complain or be grateful. I choose gratitude!
